The sound of rippling water filled the thin air. The water broke apart as a tongue thirstily licked it up. The cold ground made her shiver all over, yet she would think about the same thing.
The white tabby rose her head and looked around. She looked down at the pool, and tey again, she saw him, but when she blinked, the image of the tom was gone. Why is this happening to me? He is not in my Clan, yet I still think about him! Then she remembered her mother last words, 'I love you Streamkit, but there is something I must tell you, you weren't Clan-' and that was all Streampaw had heard. Her mother was dead after that. Yet, she sill is trying to find out the truth. Now Clan what? The white tabby looked back down. She knew she would have to tell Deerpaw in order for her to get him out of her mind, but she also needed to tell a friend, but who, she never talked to anyone! Streampaw sighed, she would just have to wait for the best to happen. Tere were so many mysteries in her life!

Swiftstar was pacing about until he came to the Crystal Pool and noticed Streampaw. He stretched and then padded over to the apprentice. "Is something wrong Streampaw?" He asked, feeling that he ought to do something if a cat was depressed in his clan. He sat down beside her and peered into the rippling pool. He could practically see his father glaring back at him. You'll never be worth crowfood. His fathers last words to him had stung like a thousand thorns. But his father was wrong, he was a leader now.

The silver tabby jumped when she heard Swiftstar, then saw him next to her. She looked back down at the Crystal pool. "Nothing." she answered almost in a whisper. She definatally wouldn't tell Swiftstar about her secret crush. What would he do? Would he say just forget about him? She didn't look back at Swiftstar.

Swiftstar sighed and touched his tail tip to her shoulder. "You can tell me if you like." He meowed quietly, thinking of what Oakstar would have done in this situation. Yeah... Oakstar would listen to what Streampaw had to say and speak wisdom to her. Did he have wisdom?

Streampaw didn't look up at Swiftstar still. "Its nothing, really." she answered and curled her tail around her paws.

Swiftstar sighed and realized this was something she definetely wouldn't want to say to a leader but perhaps to a close friend. He didn't know what he was going to say. He wanted to say something comforting but couldn't find words. He couldn't even get an apprentice of his clan to tell him the truth. Perhaps all he had ammounted to was a pile of crowfood after all.

Streampaw still didn't look at Swiftstar. She wanted to find out what her mother was saying to her before she died. she wanted to find out the rest of her mother's sentence on her own, and it would be worse for her if a leader tried to step in. sometimes, the apprentice just wanted to do and think about things on her own.

Swiftstar bowed his slightly. "I suppose I'll just... leave you alone to your thoughts." He meowed and started to saunter off, scolding himself in his mind.

Streampaw just sat there, she didn't even look back at her leader. The silver tabby drank some water.
